The Harpy
Charcoal and oil on wood panel, natural pine frame.
60 x 60 cm
Ready to hang, this painting can be adjusted to hang veritcally or diagonally.
Greek mythology and other folklore tell the tale of the Harpy; she is a vile and devilish wind spirit whose purpose is to invoke torture. This legend has evolved over time. Here I depict an alternative perspective. She is a creature of captivation, resting peacefully in her nest, far above the fearful whispers. Humanity tends to condemn what we do not understand. The truth sits spherically, in the middle of all perspectives.
