BIO
Eira-Shay is an emerging artist based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. As a self-taught painter, she has developed a distinctive style through experimentation with oil, charcoal, and carved wood. Her use of organic materials brings warmth and texture to her work, allowing the wood grain to glow beneath translucent layers of paint. Gestural charcoal marks and delicate carvings intertwine to create dreamlike narratives.
Her paintings explore themes of mysticism, femininity, and the interconnection between self and nature. Through immersive exhibitions and large-scale private commissions, Eira-Shay has established an enthusiastic collector base. She is a recent recipient of the City of Gold Coast Small Grant to fund her attendance at The Other Art Fair in Sydney. Eira-Shay is undertaking a studio residency as part of Creative Spaces, City of Gold Coast, where she is working on her next series of large scale paintings exploring water.
